Kaori Heat Treatment Co., Ltd. (Stock Code: 8996.TW) announced that it has completed its greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory for the fifth consecutive year in accordance with the international standard ISO 14064-1. The achievement demonstrates the Company's ongoing commitment to ESG implementation and its long-term strategy toward carbon reduction and net-zero sustainability.

Since 2021, Kaori has progressively expanded the scope of its GHG inventory from its Taiwan facilities to include subsidiaries and subsidiaries in China. This year, the Company completed GHG inventories across six operating sites within the Group, with third-party verification conducted by the British Standards Institution (BSI), further enhancing the transparency, reliability, and international alignment of its carbon data management.

Kaori stated that the latest verification covering six operating sites across Taiwan and China represents a significant milestone in the Company's sustainability journey. It reflects the transition from site-level carbon management to a group-wide carbon management framework, establishing a consistent approach for GHG accounting and environmental governance. This foundation will support future carbon reduction initiatives, sustainability disclosures, and climate-related management strategies.

Establishing a comprehensive and consistent GHG inventory system is a key foundation for corporate carbon management. Kaori continues to follow the requirements of ISO 14064-1, covering Scope 1 direct emissions, Scope 2 energy indirect emissions, and Scope 3 other significant indirect emissions. The Company has continuously expanded its inventory boundaries to include domestic and overseas operations, strengthening overall environmental governance and providing reliable data support for future emission reduction targets and carbon management strategies.

According to the verified GHG inventory results for the six operating sites, the emissions under the Location-based approach are as follows:
Scope 1 (Direct GHG emissions): 307.4891 metric tons CO₂e
Scope 2 (Energy indirect GHG emissions): 7,766.1695 metric tons CO₂e
Scope 3 (Upstream transportation): 707.2208 metric tons CO₂e
Scope 3 (Products used by organization): 14,437.7891 metric tons CO₂e

Total GHG emissions (Location-based): 23,218.669 metric tons CO₂e.

In addition to expanding the scope of its GHG inventory, Kaori has further strengthened its carbon data granularity and management capabilities by establishing dedicated GHG emission inventories for each site. Through standardized data collection and management processes, the Company is able to accurately identify emission sources, quantify emission profiles, and improve data consistency and quality.

With site-specific emission inventories, each facility can analyze its own emission hotspots and develop targeted energy-saving and carbon reduction initiatives. This enables carbon management to move beyond group-level strategies and become embedded into daily operational improvements, creating a continuous improvement cycle driven by reliable carbon data.

The latest inventory results indicate that product use phase emissions and purchased energy remain the major sources of emissions. Moving forward, Kaori will continue to enhance energy efficiency, optimize manufacturing processes, and collaborate with supply chain partners on carbon reduction initiatives. At the same time, the Company will continue investing in the development of high-efficiency and energy-saving products, working together with customers to reduce product life-cycle carbon emissions and enhance sustainable competitiveness.

Kaori emphasized that completing GHG inventories for five consecutive years and achieving third-party verification across six domestic and overseas operating sites demonstrates the Company's continuous improvement in environmental management and its commitment to aligning with global sustainability practices.

Looking ahead, Kaori will continue to advance its carbon management system through more precise carbon data analysis, site-level emission inventory management, and data-driven decision-making.
