In a meaningful effort to promote the spirit of co-creation and sustainability through ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles, Kaori Heat Treatment Co., Ltd. recently hosted a unique outdoor creative competition for its mid- to senior-level leadership teams. This initiative invited managers to step into nature and collaborate in teams to produce original creations that reflect Kaori's four core values: Innovation, Quality, Responsibility, and Honor.

Drawing inspiration directly from the surrounding natural environment, teams were tasked with creating projects that embodied their understanding and interpretation of these guiding principles. Through this hands-on experience, participants were encouraged not only to innovate but also to engage deeply with the company's cultural DNA.

“More than just an outdoor event, it was a meaningful refinement of our culture and a reaffirmation of our values. The natural setting and creative process sparked fresh perspectives, allowing leaders to reinterpret core principles while strengthening cross-departmental trust and collaboration.”

Team entries were evaluated across five key criteria: Environmental Friendliness, Diversity, Innovation, Completeness, and Emotional Impact. Awards were given to the top three teams under the ESG Team Innovation Award, with additional honors including the ESG Green Creativity Award. These recognitions not only concluded the event on a high note but also provided fresh leadership insights and growth opportunities for all participants.

On the day of the event, managers left their desks and reconnected, not only with nature but also with each other. Many expressed surprise and delight at the experience, saying things like:
“I never imagined I'd be creating and presenting something out in the wild!”
“I had no idea colleagues from other departments were this creative!”

The event successfully reignited a strong sense of connection with Kaori's mission and values, leaving a lasting impression on all who participated.
